“Trigger” by Susan Vaught
I found the book, “Trigger” by Susan Vaught to be very interesting. Its storyline is intriguing to teens because suicide attempts are most common in teenagers. The book was inspirational and the character of Mama Rush really adds a lot of flare to the storyline. I also found the fact that Jersey Hatch was a really average, popular, football player to be really relatable; and scary because that just shows that it could happen to anyone. I do not think that the book should win or even be nominated to win a Kentucky Bluegrass Award though because its content may be a little to real and sad for the average teen to read. I agree with the review posted on Amazon entitled “This book is one of the best.” in her review she goes on to say that both her and her daughter loved the book, and would recommend it to friends of all ages. I agree with these statements because it was a great book, and I would recommend it to friends. But I do not agree with recommending it to all ages because the unsettling content may be hard for younger kids to handle.
I loved the book "Trigger" by susan Vaught. the book should definetly win a kentucky bluegrass award. it is very detailed and even gets you in the main character, jersey's head. The book was very reall and sometimes might be a little much for a teen to read but it was a good lesson to learn. jersey was popular and played alot of sports but he took it forgranit. I thought the book was very entertaining because it always kept you on the edge of your seat. "Trigger" was a real page turner. Even though towards the end it got really sad when his old best friend, Todd would talk to him and now leza it was alot better at the end when leza forgave him. i loved how even though the book was about Jersey shooting himself the author made it so that Jersey wasn't even the one with the most problems. His mom ended up being the one who was really broken inside and eventually couldn't handle it anymore. I do think all teens ahould read this book because it teaches you a good lesson about not taking little things to seriously and well not being selfish and self centered. I really enjoyed this book.
